The Ministry of Foreign Affairs rejected the decision of the European Council to extend the sanctions imposed by the Council on some leaders of the armed forces for a second year ending in October 2025, and stressed that any attempts to equate the armed forces that defend Sudan, its sovereignty, territorial integrity and people with the rebel militia that commits all atrocities is unacceptable to Sudan, and called on the European Union to reconsider its position and look at the crisis in an objective and sound manner and condemn the crimes of the militia.
